Summary
Giraffe was engaged to revitalise Weetangera Primary School’s outdated visual branding in preparation for its 50th anniversary. The result was a fresh and fun brand identity that reflects the school community’s strong connection with the great outdoors. As part of this project, Giraffe redesigned the school logo and developed comprehensive brand guidelines, including brand expression and logo usage protocols.
To complete the new brand, Giraffe also created a series of graphics that embodied the school’s Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) values. A set of custom-illustrated bird mascots, inspired by the native fauna, was developed to convey educational messaging in an engaging format.
Additionally, Giraffe designed bespoke wayfinding signage that not only directed students but also reinforced PBL values relevant to each location, such as wearing hats outdoors or sharing books in the library. The school’s enthusiastic response to the signage led to further design requests, extending the visual identity throughout the campus. As a result, the schoolyard is now more vibrant and engaging, with the artwork making a significant impact on the overall environment.
